057. Craziness and self-confidence

Holland doesn't need to make branding anymore, it is self-confident and already has an established position in the world of architecture and business. Therefore when others were busy pumping up their muscles often showing off with something they never had, the Dutch could show to the world the Happy Street, a proposal of a walk through an imaginary multilevel amusement park which finishes off with a bar serving Wurstel with mostard. Poland has indeed made similar proposals a couple of editions of Expo ago. But it was no joke at that time.

The same kind of aesthetics is present in some places in the Dutch landscape. One example I have discovered in Almere. It is a children's common house designed for children and by children. The sponsor was a local TV station which uses the interior as its studio for Sunday morning shows.

How high should we aspire in Poland we sometimes deserve a little bit of circus.
